Cutout photo of Rachel, a Chinese Singaporean feminine-presenting person dressed in goth fashion

Hello there! My name is Rachel (she/her/xe/xem). I’m from Singapore and I work as a graphic designer. I was diagnosed with autism when I was 20 (I’m in my 30s now). Before that, I was diagnosed with selective mutism (I prefer the term “situational mutism”), ADHD and OCD as a child and teen.

I grew up feeling like I wasn’t worth shit. People treated me like I was a defective human being, and for a long time, I thought I had to cure or overcome my “deficits” in order to be seen as an actual person.

When I was in my 20s, I learnt about the neurodiversity paradigm and social model of disability, and realised that there was nothing wrong with me all along. Since then, I’ve been working on accepting myself as I am.

I started Autistic As Fxxk because I don’t want other Autistic folks to feel the way I did when I was young. Through my content, I aim to explore ways to find your own path in a neurotypical world while being unapologetically Autistic.

Follow my page and raise your middle finger to neuronormativity! 🖕🖕🏿🖕🏾🖕🏽🖕🏼🖕🏻

About this website

“Why does this website look so… unusual?”

The design of this website is inspired by old-school websites (think GeoCities) from the 90s and early 2000s.

I miss the aesthetic of those websites. They had so much personality and charm, unlike websites today that are bland and templatised with bloated code full of unnecessary crap.

I also chose the old web aesthetic to complement the DIY punk spirit of Autistic As Fxxk. 🧷✊

This website is 100% hand-coded by me (i.e. no WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.) and built with Hugo!

Email, guestbook and under construction GIFs from GifCities.
